Welcome to BC Premier Pathways! Let me tell you my football journey!

My name is Benji Cameron and like most young boys growing up I always dreamed of becoming a professional footballer.

From when I was young, I would be training every day in my backgarden striving to be the best.

Growing up in Brisbane, I played in the NPL system for pretty much my whole youth from U13s to U23s. Through that came multiple players player’s awards, invitations from Queensland State Teams, Brisbane Roar youth teams and more.

Back in 2022 when I was 19 I decided to move over to London to pursue my dream of becoming a professional footballer. It was all or nothing, a shot that I knew I had to take.

I ended up playing in professional academies, semi pro first teams, playing against premier league academies which all were incredible experiences.

Having played and lived in the UK I’ve realised how many players from Australia dream of playing professional football, whether that be in the Premier League or all the way down to the National League. But not only do they not know where to start, most don’t know any contacts and what the level of football is like compared to Australia. In the end it seems an impossible task and so many talented footballers fall through the cracks and settle playing in Aus. Furthermore Visa issues and guidelines with the FA prove very difficult for some players which I will explain in my next post!

This is where I want to help. Having played in both countries, building a reputable connection profile with coaches, managers and agents, I want to help bring aspiring Australian footballers to the UK and help them thrive in the British game not only for football development but character development and maturity.
